How curious it is, to mount a camera on a tripod, compose, adjust, and then shoot for several seconds, or minutes, and then be amazed at the striking final result... Certainly very different from the instant perceived reality, but still uniquely captivating and extremely intense! It's a shame that we don't have the ability to open our eyes and let our "inner sensors" adsorb light in a continuous way, experiencing the wonders of long light capture, the vibrance of colours, the quietude of movement...
This shot was made near Fortaleza do Guincho (Lisbon - Portugal), some days ago... The weather was extremely cold, and the sun had set... Still, the sky kept its colors, which started getting more and more intense. The result: an hour of very long exposures, sneakers and legs absolutely soaked in water, a ton of sand around my feet, sand on my tripod, splashes of water in my camera, lenses and filters and, the best of all, and extreme feeling of oneness and close contact with raw nature, untouched, wild, beautiful...
And yes, such an extreme pleasure it was to be with you... yes you... forever.
The purple mist makes it look really mysterious and, as the title implies, otherworldly. The splash of warm orange in the sky creates just enough dissonance with the surrounding purpleto lend emotion to this piece. Truly amazing.
Very well done
