And so I reached the neverending torment, shocked in pain by the flames who were consuming me... it was all so fast and vengeful, a burning fist crushing my heart...
This photo was taken in Serra de Monchique, a place which was vastly devastated by last year's fires... I was amidst a completely burned area, when I saw those pine cones, which exhibited a gorgeous reddish core, strongly contrasted by its burned surface. This image imediately inspired me into isolating one of the pine cones against the desolated background. As the title shows, this photo was made to REMEMBER what happened, and what can happen AGAIN this year, unless governments do their homework, supporting strong fire combat measures, and populations increase its cooperation with the local firemen in the detection of fires, as well as in the supply of the much needed food and water for them. Hoping that no more wounds are inflicted into the soil we step, this is my hommage to Remembrance........ Amazing colours! (Suggested by *LazyGunn and Featured by `garrit) CommentsAmazing natural colors. I might have had the pine comb come in from a different angle, say from the top left corner extending toward the viewer until it ended on the bottom edge of the frame. I'm constantly amazed at the warmth of your photos and the vibrant colors.
-- "Even the darkest cloud has a silver lining. Generally, this indicates lightning is about to strike." - Me. member of =macrophoto well... it's not only the goverment work. they may do more than possible but still they're not only people there. usually woods burn because of stupidy of human beings who don't care.
but picture... okay, i put it that way: picture is great. (well maybe pine comb more central?) but the photo seems to be too great to be a warning or a something to remember. maybe it's because of origin of fire - it's vivid. well... maybe i'd prefer the picture after fire? black and white? just thinking what would make me be warned Em termos técnicos, muito muito captivante. Gosto dos tons, não gostasse eu de vermelho. Gosto da focagem, dos filtros, das cores, da perspectiva.
Em termos emocionais? Entristece-me. Profundamente. Pensar em todos aqueles hectares de árvores (e não só!) ardidos em infernos amarelos e laranjas e vermelhos, queimados até á essencia. A raiva é grande. A dor ainda maior. Somos parte, pertencemos. Esquecer disso é esquecer quem somos. E porque nos tornamos nós parasitas em vez de parte do ciclo? Queremos nós condenar-nos á extinção? Oh, incendios. Fogo descontrolado. E antes, a própria Natureza controlava o que agora o Homem descontrola... |
