The Fate of Faith by Inebriantia The Fate of Faith by Inebriantia
The Fate of Faith

When hope leaves us alone, and times are made of dark and nebulous acts of suffering, there's always a treasure left forgotten in our void of existence...

It's in these times that we walk without direction, frozen, numb...

It's in these times that our mind reaches such levels of intensity, that we suddenly realize that this visceral corrosive feeling which is inhabiting our rotten soul may be healed with a spark of strength, courage and, above everything else, a subtle but growing flame of belief that our energies can be chanelled into matter, that the deepest inner will can melt the painful ice that world has become.

Light this candle for he, light a candle for me, then leave.... forget... come back... light a candle for she, light a candle for us.... forget... come back... and the life cycle perpetuates....

...

José Ramos

Photo taken in the Sanctuary of Fátima in Portugal - this is one of the most important places of the sanctuary. This is where people burn their candles in honour of their dearest ones who need help.

Note: I've resubmited this photo after some editing. I wasn't happy with this photo's post processing, as it was excessively colourful and sharpened, not conveying the mood I wanted.

<such>A minha terrinha! *voz assim muito santa e da serra*

Uma fotografia diferente do usual. Por acaso nunca me deu para fotografar aquela zona, que transmite um calor e um ambiente muito intenso. Mas já não é preciso, aqui está um registo muito bom. :} *

Great as always, dunno why I even bother writing a comment...

Religion?
The picture seems to project a slightly pessimistic view - to me..
Still, all is possible and acceptable - faith can give you what you need or not..

Blalabla..

Hey, I just thought of this a couple of minutes ago - why do you think so many (religious) people, now and throughout history - mostly seems to be (/described as) fearful by the possibility of their own death. But if you are religious, why be afraid of what is said to be eternal happiness?
...
Ah, don't answer..

Well.... I don't know why you bother writing a comment.... all that I know is that I appreciate your comments a lot!

Well, the image and description may be interpreted in many ways. In my particular vision, I tried to depict faith and religion as a neverending path, a cyclic one, where the strength of our beliefs depend on how much we need "god" to do something for us...

Your final question is very interesting. I guess that many people seem to be fearful by the possibility of their own death, because in the deepest of them they don't believe in what they preach... Imagine you are a catholic and you have total and unconditional faith in God. Well.... you have a guidebook called the bible, you can attend the church, you have all the tools to be sure that you'll reach eternal happiness... love god above everything else, love thy neighbour as yourself, and others.... It looks simple doesn't it? Then why almost no one pratices this? Perhaps because they don't fully believe in it, and simply act AS IF it could possibly be true...

 Thanks for your comment

Hmm, I wonder if they know - or will ever find out, if this so happens to be true. :)

And you'r welcome ^^
