Outside the last stronghold I patiently await, till someone carries my burden away and frees me up from my duties. Right now all I need is to simply be as one, to exist with no associated conditions or engraved pre-concepts.
The last stronghold keeps me safe for now...

Photo taken at Lisbon - Portugal
Shooting notes - this building has always fascinated me. Situated in the periphery of Lisbon, its extremely solid construction makes us wonder how many times it saved our coastline from unknown perils. I had finally decided to visit it the day before this shot was made, to be able to appreciate it's beauty and to study its photographic potential. I explored it and I hadn't found any special shooting motif in it... until I decided to "break" its frontiers and jumped over an open-air window (like the one you can see in the photo) from which I probably could have a better view of the sunset. Well, I was amazed with what I saw! Unfortunately the sky had few clouds, so I headed home with not-so-good shots. I spent the rest of the day thinking "I must return there soon!". The next day I woke up, opened the window and looked at the sky and it was graced by the presence of the much desired clouds. Needless to say that there I was the next day, in my recently discovered sweet spot, waiting for the sunset... I can't simply describe how good it was to spend 1.5 hours watching colours mutate and dance as the sun was getting lower and lower.
There are no scents nor sounds contained in this photo, but this is the best I can do to share this moment with you...
