Nation's Womb - The Gothic Renaissance
Push the gigantic doors... and be overwhelmed... Enter the jewel of the Manueline architecture, and sense the intimate union between the architectural elements of the late Gothic and Renaissance periods, entwined in the atmosphere of kings, christianity and the natural world... Chroniclers, historians, travellers and artists have written about the Monastery of Jerónimos. Once a shelter, then a final resting place, and later, a poets womb. Nowadays, all the justice is made with the distinction of Wold Cultural Heritage Site in 1984, by UNESCO. This Monastery has been a symbol of the Portuguese nation since 1501, an alive memory of the epic Age of Discovery... Comments

-- "If you live life with no purpose, then you're already dead."-Kiba [wolf's rain]  do they let you use a tripod inside? its so difficult to take good photos of monuments in europe without being told to leave or "please, no pictures"
-- -There is no wisdom in your freedom- Well, when I enter these kind of places, I search for a sign telling me not to take photos (and in this case I respect the sign), or in the absence of one I see if is there someone else taking photos. This was the case so I took the photos.

  tu és deveras mt bom a fotografar...linda perspectiva perfeitamente, com as abobadas e mesmo a moldura da janela. mas o detalhe do escudo de portugal é ke para mim é magnifico!!
