The breathing of God... by Inebriantia The breathing of God... by Inebriantia
A single deity, multiple gods, or the void of divinity... it doesn´t matter, as long as you understand that those green leaves will breathe through everything you build, and always say good morning and goodbye to all of your achievements, watching all of your steps, and breeding all your actions into fertile and prosperous land, or burned and painful ashes.

No matter how hard it is to accept, you will always have at least 2 options... walk this path with eyes wide open, admiring and honouring your communion with earth, above all conceptions... or shut your spirit and dry your ears, tired of the vastness and intricacy of the cosmos...

No matter what 'God' is, the universe exists. It would be a shame and a waste to ignore its beauty.

Magnificent :) Is there a print available?

There seems to be a figure in shadow at the end of the "tunnel" there, there in the shape and shadows of the tree. Nicely framed.

+fav

Hi it’s blahbig from ~ProCritique.

I have to say that this is just a superb piece of photography with an excellent concept that is well realised. We really do get a sense of nature’s splendour and a sense of the divine - I love that the first “door” shape is vaguely like the arch of a church window; it’s a nice little coincidence and builds upon the theme. It’s not quite a cold divinity here, having the multiple doorways really gives a feeling of closeness and intimacy and I think also a strong feeling of warmth, it’s like we are being invited to enter into this irresistible lush paradise. But that closeness and the feeling that we are being inexorably drawn is vaguely sinister, in fact on closer inspection the doorways look rather like rows of teeth. I love that subtle sinister feel, you say in your explanation, “…into fertile and prosperous land, or burned and painful ashes”, which is exactly right for nature has as much ability to destroy as to create - and can do so with cruel indifference (*coughtsunamicough*). On the surface a thistle is beautiful but when you touch it, it hurts. Ultimately my impression is one of warmth, on the surface. Underneath the golden archways and lush foliage nature’s power is final, adamant and irresistible; we will always be drawn through the jawed gates and into the garden…

Now what can I recommend for improvement? Not much really.

First would be I’m not sure about the point of view; it seems like the camera should perhaps have been brought lower so that our view is closer to the ground and also maybe slightly looking up. As it is we seem to be almost looking down upon the garden we can see through to… but considering the concept I think it would be more appropriate if rather we are gazing up, as if we are being subtly overwhelmed by the majesty of nature’s kingdom. It would also have been a good idea because at the moment the “door”, which is our focal point, is pretty central in the composition and I think the piece would benefit, create more interest, if perhaps it was slightly offset upwards.

I think also it might be a good idea to enhance the greenness of the view at the end of the tunnel because at the moment the whole shot is all very golden. Making this point greener will, I think, add more sense of depth and also of looking through into some secret garden, into a place of mysterious and beautiful things - nature’s verdant kingdom as it were.

Also along with that perhaps you could try slightly subduing and darkening the gold of the “doorways” to enhance the impression of looking through and of the warmth beyond, and also to add further depth to the piece.

And that’s all I have to say. This is an excellent work and was a joy to analyse. I hope what I have written is useful to you. :)

Excelent work in both composition and perspective. The post-processing adds a dream-like mood to the whole scene, which is heavily reinforced by your initial comment to this piece. I'd say it almost falls into the realm of photo-manipulation (bear no ill-conception about this remark). Either way, the end result is stunning.

Cheers.

Mais uma vez, obrigado.
