NEWS Part 6 - it seems the journal reached its maximum length, so the newly submitted participations weren't appearing. As such, I've made a new journal with all the submissions --> [link]
NEWS Part 5 - Only 10 days to go till the end of the contest! In the last 12 days I've received several new participations, which I've just included in the journal! If you are considering to participate you'd better hurry, as the contest will end soon! Since I'm going on a full week travel to the USA, you wont probably hear much from me till I return, but as soon as I can I'll update this journal with all the participations I'll receive meanwhile.
NEWS Part 4 - 22 days to go till the end of the contest! I've just spent another two hours sorting all the new contestants, as well as reformatting the thumbs alignment, because with only one thumb per row, the journal was starting to get HUGE! I've been counting all the participations, and to my amazement there are already 136 photos on contest! Yes, it's one hundred thirty six photos paying hommage to our beautiful planet. 136 creations from 136 artists who devoted their time creating and sharing their vision about how precious earth is. This is special...
NEWS Part 3 - and even more submissions added! Jeez, I never thought there would be so many contestants! My message center has been a mess, which means lots of work.

NEWS - First submissions added - check the bottom of the journal! That is the reason why you are seeing this journal again in your message. Lots of people were eager to see the first submissions so here they are! And you? What are you expecting?!
The contest is now officially launched! I've always wanted to make a contest here, and I've put a lot of effort into this, as I wanted to gather as many prizes as I could, as well as gathering the best panel of judges possible.
The contest's theme is
"Earth - The Deepest Respect". The main goal in here is to stimulate you to go
outside, feel the beauty that surrounds you, and take the best photo you can of our precious planet, increasing awareness, and paying hommage to Earth. It can be a sunset, a macro, a waterscape, anything you want, as long as it depicts Earth in the most beautiful and striking way you can.

Guidelines:
- The contest deadline is two months from now, so that you can have plenty of time to submit your deviations. As such, the contest will end on the 16th October 2007.
- EVERYONE can enter
- Maximum of ONE deviation per deviant
- The deviation must be new, never submitted on deviantart.
- The deviation must be a photography, and it must depict Earth in any way you want.
- Post-processing is allowed, as long as it doesn't involve inclusion/exclusion of the elements that were part of the original composition.
- You should state in the deviation's description that your photo is entering the "Earth - The Deepest Respect" contest, with a link to this journal
- You should warn me of your participation, through NOTE with a link to the deviation
- I'll regularly upload this journal with the currently submitted photos
- After the contest ends, each judge will choose it's favorite 1st, 2nd and 3rd photo. The 1st will get three points, the 2nd two points, and the 3rd one point. In the end, the photos with more points will win.
- I reserve the right to make any adjustments/change to this contest while it's running. This is my first time doing it, so I guess I'll have to correct some mistakes during these 2 months. Anyway, I guess the prizes are here to stay! :-D
