I miss 'my' Deviantart...

I miss having a simple message center filled with great photos from people I used to know

I miss submitting a photo in a gigantic interesting world made of art of all kinds

I miss the vibrant community

I miss the emotion of getting tons of favorites and fantastic comments

I miss the thrill of the popular page, 'will it make it there?'

I miss the honor of Daily Deviations, and I can still remember the shivers I felt when someone told me by sms that I had been awarded a DD

I miss the provocative journals

I miss the perfect mix between maturity and innovation

I miss having a place here

I miss you.

How did Deviantart turn into this?

Hello dear watchers:

I'm one of the many who stopped using this website, except for the ocasional photo submission. I´ve spent hundreds of hours here, and I´m sad to see this site die, in what concerns photography.

I just went to the popular page right now, and I barely see any photographs there. I hadn´t check the popular page for months, and I think it´s a good demonstration of how things are around here.

How, and why, did Deviantart turn into this?!

Do you use 500px.com? What do you think?

Since I´ve been using DA less and less, I´ve been looking for other photography sites. 500px.com so far looks like the best around. Excellent design and geared towards artistic photos.

What do you think of it? Do you use it?

It´s time to buy some new prints for your walls!

I just realized I´ve sold a large format print here on DA. I stopped submitting prints on dA LONG ago. I´m tired of the ridiculously low profits. The point where I got absolutely fed up with the prints service happened when dA suddenly changed all the margin profits, and wanted the artists to manually change EVERY print...

Abandoned Cats, Abandoned Beauties - photo session

Abandoned Cats, Abandoned Beauties - photographic session:

In the last month I had the opportunity to do a photographic session with the beautiful cats of União Zoófila (www.uniaozoofila.org), a non-profit organization located in Lisbon, which helps abandoned animals, giving them a decent place to live. I was impressed by the strong personality and beauty of each single cat, and it´s hard to think how someone could´ve abandoned them.

I was extremely refreshing to do this. I´m currently searching for new photographic endeavours, outside landscape photography.

Even though the whole set was done in only about 1 hour and a half, all the "models" cooperated. I ended up with about 500 photos, and selected 120, which you can take a look at in my website - www.joseramos.com/cats

You can order a print of any of this images - all profits will go to União Zoófila - just drop me a note through the contact form in the website.
